The country registers 342,813 positive cases for Covid-19 and 28,617 deaths from the virus.
Spain issued a new resolution, which prohibits smoking in the streets and also orders the closure of all nightclubs due to the increase in positive cases of coronavirus. Today more than 2,987 new contagion cases and 12 deaths were registered, the authorities fear that the curve will continue to grow.
The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, stated at a press conference that the Council of the National Health System, for the first time, opted for unified measures for the entire Spanish territory. These measures are the prohibition of smoking in the street if you do not keep a distance of two meters and also the immediate closure of all discos, dance halls and bars.
The minister also recalled that drinking on public roads is prohibited and urged law enforcement to be strict with sanctions.
Hotels and restaurants must guarantee the distance of two meters between tables and bars. These establishments have a closing time of 1:00 am, but they cannot accept new clients from 0:00 am.
The Spanish Government has also provided that residences for the elderly only receive one visit per patient. These centers must also periodically test their workers.
In addition, the community of Madrid has expressed its intention to carry out 6,000 random tests in the districts that show the highest infection rate. People will receive a message on their cell phone and will have to go to a medical center to take the test.
