Ecuador reports 903 new infections and 42 more deaths in the last 24 hours. In total, this August 5, 2020, 88,866 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 9,374 deaths due to this pandemic are registered.
According to the Ministry of Health, there are 88,866 confirmed cases, of which, 79,910 were people confirmed with a PCR test. In addition, there are 5,847 deaths with a positive prognosis and 3,527 with suspicion of carrying the disease.
Regarding the situation of hospitalized people, 830 are stable and 378 with a reserved prognosis. In total, 1,208 patients are hospitalized in one day. While 183 more people were discharged from hospital.
The number of patients recovered is 59,344 and this information will be updated every Sunday. This group has been entered into the surveillance system with at least one positive RT-PCR test, at least 29 days have passed since the date of onset of symptoms and are alive.
The government report indicates that, in one day, there were 2,099 calls to 171 related to COVID-19, of which 82 were referred to a first-level health center.
