The Council of the Judiciary already has the document to call the pending contest.
The Plenary of the Council of the Judiciary (CJ) issued the Regulation of the public contest of opposition and merits, challenge and social control for the selection and appointment of the judges of the National Court of Justice (CNJ).
The document indicates that for the selection of magistrates, parameters of legitimacy and transparency must be considered; notorious honesty and high moral authority; ethically irreproachable personal trajectory; vocation of public service and protection of human rights, democratic values and transparency; and, commitment to the institutional change of justice.
On November 28, 2019, the President of the Judicial Council, María del Carmen Maldonado, presented a list of 26 temporary judges for the National Court of Justice, after the evaluation to the magistrates.
In January of this year, it was already planned to carry out this contest to appoint the permanent judges of the National Court, but the process was pending until it had the Regulations.
