Authorities announced that there were no crowds and the distance was controlled
On June 3, 2020, Quito changed from the compulsory isolation stage to social distancing. On the first day of this new stage, there was an increase of 400,000 people who carried out their activities and nearly 600,000 used metropolitan transportation.
The director of the ECU911, Juan Zapata, reported that, until yesterday, June 2, 200,000 people were mobilized for authorized activities while the city remained in mandatory isolation.
Regarding the use of public transport, he stressed that no crowds were identified and that the protocols were complied with.
“There were no crowds or complications in the 7 terminals that operated today,” said Zapata, mentioning that there was an offer of 45% for public transport, both conventional and metropolitan.
In addition, he mentioned that ECU911 reached 1 million 693 thousand emergencies attended since the pandemic began in the country:

23,583 by health code
32,143 by crowds
22,296 for domestic violence
18,419 for removal of corpses
92,552 for breaching the curfew
1,518 for leaving the epidemiological fence
In addition, he regretted that 45% of calls received were due to misuse.
He explained that in emergency health care there was a reduction of 3%, while traffic accidents went from 69, on June 2, to registering 81 on June 3, which represents an increase of 17%.
