This based on reports submitted by different multidisciplinary bodies.
The Government Minister, María Paula Romo, indicated that one of the reports of the experts that analyze the health emergency that the country is experiencing indicates that 120 cantons would be ready to go from the red to the yellow traffic lights: “Because they are less vulnerable and have less contagions ”.
She remarked that neither the opinion of the National COE or the municipalities should take precedence to make a decision, but the opinion of the experts:
“The reports of the Ministry of Public Health have data for each province, detailed canton and in the case of Quito and Guayaquil it is detailed by parish from the date of onset of symptoms, as well as the decrease in emergency care.”
The official urged the local authorities, even, to review the reports of the National Police since cases of violence are being registered within homes that endanger, especially, children and adolescents, since there have been murders on minors.
“For a week and a half, a rebound in violent activities has begun and we see in a worrying way crimes that are committed against children and adolescents, and the police released data on which cantons are most vulnerable”
In any case, she said she hoped that until Friday, May 1, the municipalities would inform the National COE of their decision to provide information to the citizens about the color of each city.
“We have asked the municipalities and prefectures that everyone have a communication process to know the habits, hand washing, disinfection of the house, special care for older adults, be aware of symptoms, loss of smell or taste.”
