Humanitarian flights are suspended because compatriots do not abide by isolation measures

The flights will resume when the first groups that arrived fulfill the quarantine period.

Facing the mandatory isolation of some of the compatriots who returned to the country after being stranded in others, the Government decided to suspend humanitarian flights.

The Government Minister, María Paula Romo, indicated that these people do not want to abide by the isolation measures and as soon as they arrive they want to travel to other provinces even with safe-conducts that are not for these cases and what is sought is to avoid new infections.

She used as an example a flight that came on March 23 from Houston, United States, without permission to bring passengers. Of the 12 passengers who came, 11 tested positive for COVID-19.

Under these circumstances, it was known that authorizations for humanitarian flights will be suspended while the isolation of the first groups that arrived last.

The Secretary of State stated that in the next few days, only the flights that were already scheduled will be carried out.

This will be a key week, in which the government authorities will analyze and make new decisions in the face of the current health emergency in the country due to the presence of the coronavirus, which is already in 23 of the 24 provinces.

Precisely, to prevent the virus from spreading further, the minister said that the face-to-face working day will continue to be suspended until Sunday, April 5. However, this decision will be evaluated.
