India’s External Affairs Minister will travel to Latin America

India’s Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Meenakashi Lekhi, will pay an official visit to Cuba, Guatemala, El Salvador and Bolivia from January 13 to 20, the Foreign Ministry informed.

During her stay in Havana, on January 13 and 14, the head of diplomacy will meet with the President of the National Assembly, Esteban Lazo, and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, and Culture, Alpidio Alonso.

She is also expected to hold talks with Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel.

Afterwards, Lekhi will be in Guatemala, from January 15 to 17, where she will meet with President Alejandro Giammattei and Vice President César Castillo, and will also hold talks with the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy, Public Health and Social Assistance, and Energy and Mines of that Central American country.

Lekhi will also hold talks with the business community in the city of Antigua. In San Salvador, from January 17 to 19, Lekhi will meet with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele and the heads of Foreign Affairs, Alexandra Hill; Culture, Mariem Pleitez and Economy, María Hayem.

In the first visit of a representative from New Delhi since the government of President Luis Arce took office in Bolivia, the Minister of State will talk with the President and will hold meetings with the heads of Foreign Affairs, Rogelio Mayta, and Hydrocarbons and Energy, Franklin Molina.
