Argentinian government denounces dissemination of fake news

The Argentinian Government on Thursday denounced “the malicious dissemination of false information based on sworn statements submitted to the Anticorruption Office.”

The Presidential Secretariat of Communication and Press explained that “what is presented as an increase or tripling of the assets of President Alberto Fernandez and some of his officials, is simply a change in the tax valuation of real estate in the City of Buenos Aires.”

In addition, it pointed out that the assets of those residing in this capital city increased due to a measure taken by the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) this year.

The AFIP decided to take the same indicator as the Governmental Administration of Public Revenues in this city to design the Real Estate, Lighting, Sweeping, and Cleaning Tax.

It is what is called the homogeneous value, which multiplies by four the fiscal value.

This modification is the one that should have been applied in this year’s tax returns for the first time and causes the modification of amounts that do not reflect any increase due to the incorporation of other assets, it added.

Likewise, it asserts that the president “maintains decency and austerity as pillars of his personal trajectory and his Government.”

We urge local media not to promote erroneous analyses that only seek to generate uneasiness in the population, the organization concluded.
