Police deployment condemned near home of Cristina Fernández

Political and social leaders in Argentina today condemned the deployment of the Police Infantry Guard and the closure of the area near the home of Vice President Cristina Fernández, located in the Recoleta neighborhood.

By order of the Ministry of Justice and Security of the City of Buenos Aires, this day a perimeter fence was installed on Juncal streets, between Paraná and Talcahuano, and Uruguay between Montevideo and Arenales.

In addition, armed officers and assault cars were deployed.

Uniformed officers prevented access to the apartment of the also head of the Senate to citizens who have come to that place since Monday to express their support and accompany her against the media, political and judicial persecution against her.

Through its profile on the social network Twitter, the Justicialista Party in this capital condemned what happened and announced a mobilization in that area.

Cristina is defended by the people. Against the provocation of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta (head of government of the city), all to the square of Juncal and Paraná, indicated the political formation.

This call was supported by members of the Frente de Todos, deputies, presidential spokeswoman Gabriela Cerruti and Interior Minister Wado de Pedro, among others.

For Cambiemos and Larreta there is no problem in going to insult Fernández at her house, but not in supporting and accompanying her, preventing it with fences and police. They are still the same authoritarians and provocateurs as always, De Pedro wrote.

For his part, Cerruti published: “The billboards are not going to stop supporting Cristina. Everyone to the square. Enough media and judicial persecution. See you there!”

On his side, the member of the National Justicialist Movement Andrés Larroque denounced that the Police have besieged the vice president, which represents “a de facto arrest.”

“This is unconstitutional. There are 35 assault cars,” he said.

The president of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Association, Hebe de Bonafini, assured “they cannot put fences on the heart” and assured that demonstrations carried out are peaceful. Likewise, the head of the Federal Intelligence Agency and former Minister of Defense, Agustín Rossi, described what happened as “institutional madness.”

We urgently demand that the fences and police personnel that do not allow the free movement of people be removed, he said.
