The Justicialist Party will hold a plenary meeting on Tuesday to define its next actions given the judicial persecution against Argentine Vice President Cristina Fernández and the violence exercised by the Police against the people who demonstrated her support.
According to Télam news agency, the meeting will take place at 18:00 hours, local time, in Buenos Aires, and in which Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero and Interior Minister Wado de Pedro, among others, will participate.
Among the issues to be discussed is the organization of a massive demonstration in support of Fernandez, who is also the president of the Senate.
During the last few days, after prosecutor Diego Luciani decided to request 12 years in prison for the former president and her disqualification to hold public offices, several mobilizations took place in different regions of this nation to support Fernandez.
Thousands of people arrived in the vicinity of her apartment in the Recoleta neighborhood of Buenos Aires to condemn the installation of fences and the police deployment in the area.
The police officers repressed those present with tear gas, hydrant trucks, and batons.
