Ecuador’s National Assembly (Parliament) has decided to implement teleworking as of this Monday, due to a rise in Covid-19 cases in the country.
The measure complies with a recommendation adopted by the Emergency Operations Committee (COE) after analyzing the epidemiological situation across the territory, where there is an increase in coronavirus contagions.
The personnel from functions in which the measure can be implemented, according to the institutional needs and those of the administrative areas, will assume teleworking, while the provision of services is ensured.
In accordance with what is laid down in the legislative body, the 50 percent of capacity in meetings and administrative offices will be maintained, and wearing facemasks is required inside those facilities.
During the last week of July, the COE assessed the Covid-19 situation in the country and confirmed that there is an increase in the number of cases of the disease.
