Ecuador’s President will visit Peru to hand over CAN Presidency

The Ecuadorian president, Guillermo Lasso, will travel to Lima-Peru this Sunday, to hand over the Presidency of the Andean Community to his Peruvian counterpart, Pedro Castillo.

The protocol act will take place on Monday 29 at the headquarters of the regional organization, where the Andean Presidential Council will later take place, with the participation of the leaders Lasso, Castillo and, in addition to Bolivia, Luis Arce, and Colombia, Gustavo Petro. .

It is expected that the Ecuadorian Head of State will present his management report for the 2021-2022 period at the summit, and he will finally return to the country on Monday night.

Lasso took the temporary Presidency on July 17, 2021 from former Colombian president Iván Duque.
