Lula wins 26th victory in Brazil’s justice system

Former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Saturday enjoyed his 26th victory in the Brazilian justice system after another investigation improperly opened against him was archived.

According to the website lula.com.br, the judicial victory was confirmed following a decision by the 10th Criminal Court of the Federal District on the so-called Ministrão Case.

With this ruling, the complaint that sought to criminalize Lula’s appointment as a Minister of the Civil House during the Government of former President Dilma Rousseff (2011-2016) was set aside.

Such an action, registered the following day to the indictment of the so-called Quadrilhão of the PT (Workers’ Party), was never received by the justice system due to a lack of elements.

According to the website, the favorable results obtained by the former labor leader “in all trials against him are proof of the intense legal persecution of which he was a victim” and demonstrate his innocence.

The allegation was recently archived after six-year-long investagion.
