Cuba’s Soberana Plus registered for application in Belarus

The Belarusian Health Ministry’s Center for Expertise and Testing approved the use of the Cuban Soberana Plus vaccine against Covid-19, which makes this country the first in Europe to register the vaccine.

At the ceremony, the director of the Belarusian health institution, Dmitry Vladimirovich, pointed out that the registration card of the vaccine in his country is dated July 26 in honor of Cuba’s National Rebellion Day.

He also handed one of the copies of the certificate of approval for the use of Soberana Plus to the director of the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices of Cuba, Olga Jacobo, and to the director of the Finlay Vaccine Institute, Vicente Verez, developer of the vaccine.

In this regard, Verez congratulated all those involved in the development of the drug, as well as those who, from different sectors, have made it possible for Soberana Plus to reach Europe.

The second document was received by the ambassador of the Caribbean island in Minsk, Santiago Pérez, as a sign of the expansion of bilateral ties between Belarus and Cuba.
