The Dominican Medical Association and the National Association of Private Clinics and Hospitals are marching in the capital to demand improvements in the health system.
In recent days doctors deplored the lack of supplies in hospitals to attend to patients, forcing relatives to go to pharmacies to buy from catheters to syringes, among other supplies.
They also condemned an alleged government strategy to privatize the health sector, and demanded respect for decrees 127-21 and 353-21 on pensions, and the payment of seniority and distance incentives.
The march takes place from the Nuestra Señora de La Altagracia maternity hospital to the National Palace.
