Russia’s Energy Development Center assured that the country could become in July the largest oil exporter not only to China, but also to India.
A report presented by the institution and published by the Russian agency TASS, states that the Eurasian nation with the coming exports will be able to surpass its closest competitor, Iraq.
According to experts, the supply of Russian hydrocarbons to the Asian giant is also growing.
In June, they reached two million barrels per day, both by sea and by the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline, and 985 thousand barrels per day to India.
The Energy Development Center also stressed that Russian oil exports have fully adapted to the sanctions and, at least during the summer, a significant decline should hardly be expected.
According to the Castellum.AI database, Russia is now the country hit hardest by the economic measures, ahead of Iran, Syria, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Venezuela. Since mid-February, more than 8,550 new restrictive sanctions have been activated against it, in addition to the 2,695 already in force.
