Syria demands explicit UN condemnation of Israeli attacks

The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the Security Council and the Secretary General of the United Nations to clearly and explicitly condemn Israel’s frequent attacks against its territory.

The Foreign Ministry sent two letters addressed to said UN institutions stating that their position regarding Israeli aggression against Syrian sovereignty must be unequivocal and free from any politicized consideration and calculations.

The letters called for the implementation of international resolutions related to the end of the Israeli occupation of Syrian territories, and demanded that Tel Aviv respect the Separation of Forces Agreement signed in Geneva on December 31st, 1974.

It was clarified that on the same day that the recent Israeli missile attack occurred last Friday, a terrorist action was perpetrated against a military bus, claiming the lives of 10 soldiers, which shows, according to the Foreign Ministry, the coordination between the terrorists and Israel.

Israel carried out more than 12 attacks against Syrian territory this year, the last one was against the municipality of Messiaf on May 13rd, claiming the lives of five soldiers.
