Presidents of Uganda and Rwanda agree to promote regional peace

he presidents of Rwanda, Paul Kagame and his Ugandan host, Yoweri Museveni, agreed to work together to strengthen regional peace and stability, according to a statement issued in this capital.

The Rwandan leader is visiting the Ugandan capital and met with Museveni on Sunday after the summit of the member countries of the Community of East African States, held in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, last week.

The communication on the meeting between the two leaders said that both countries will address the prevailing security situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The summit meeting served to welcome into its midst the armed militias of various ideological persuasions whose members are accused of committing crimes against humanity against civilian populations in the Congolese provinces of Ituri and North Kivu.
