The Polish mining company JSW reported that at least three people died due to a methane explosion in the Pniowek mine, in the region of Silesia, in the south of this country. According to the company, the rescue works has been suspended until a dust barrier is reestablished to protects the place of a new explosion.
So far, the whereabouts of eight workers is unkown.
A total of 42 miners were in the affected area, 12 of whom are already hospitalized, a official statement highlighted.
The rescue search in the territorial subdivision involves 13 rescue teams.
The blasts occurred at a depth of about 1000 meters, local media reported.
