China rejects US criticism on human rights and use of outer space

China rejected United States’ allegations about the human rights, and also of its development and aspirations in the sphere of outer space.

Zhao Lijian, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized that the US report on human rights published on 2021 is riddled with political lies and ideological prejudice towards China.

He considered it another example of hypocrisy and double standards by the United States, because it has “debts and crimes both at home and abroad” while pretending to be a world judge.

The spokesman mentioned existing problems on US soil, such as the high number of deaths and infections resulting from the mismanagement of the Covid-19 pandemic, the implementation of discriminatory policies in the field of migration, violence linked to firearms, and inhumane treatment in prisons.

The official denounced that in the search for hegemony, the White House has started wars and subversive actions in different countries worldwide, leading to the displacement of large waves of refugees and the deaths of thousands of people.

He also criticized the recurrent use of sanctions and other measures to pressure other nations, as well as the existence of a network of secret prisons where inmates are detained and tortured without even being charged.

“What the United States must do is stop immediately with the accusations, stop attacking the human rights of other countries and examine itself (…) to improve its own situation,” he said.
