At least 11 Palestinians injured by Israeli military in the West Bank

At least 11 Palestinians were wounded on Sunday in attacks by Israeli security forces in several cities and villages in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement that three young men were wounded, two of them by combat bullets, in the northern city of Jenin.

Four others sustained injuries in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, three of them from Tel Aviv military gunfire, and four more in the city of Tulkarem.

On Sunday, the Israeli police and army launched a large-scale operation in the West Bank, in downtown and around Jenin.

The soldiers imposed movement restrictions in that area following an attack last week in Tel Aviv by a Palestinian native of the town.

Jenin Governor Akram Rajoub criticized Israel’s measures and warned of their consequences.

When you punish an entire city, close stores and round up people, you can expect them to do anything, he warned.

According to various media reports, military troops have arrested numerous youths there in the last few hours.

Israel considers Jenin and the surrounding areas as a stronghold of Palestinian militias.
