A delegation of the Arab League left Monday for Moscow to meet with Russian authorities as part of an European tour that seeks a diplomatic solution to the Ukraine conflict.
According to a statement by that pan-Arab organization, the delegation will be received by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Afterwards, they will fly to Warsaw, Poland, to meet with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Tuesday.
The Arab delegation is made up of representatives from Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Iraq, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates.
The digital version of Al Ahram daily reported that one of its members is Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
According to official figures, this North African nation, which has 103 million inhabitants, is the major importer of wheat in the world, with 5.5 million tons in 2021, and 80 percent of that amount came from Russia and Ukraine.
