The UN Security Council (UNSC) continues today without taking a common stance to address the Ukraine conflict, following once again it was impossible to pass a draft join resolution in this regard.
Russia-backed draft resolution vote ended up with 13 abstentions and only two votes in favor: China and Russia.
Russian permanent representative to UN Vasili Nebenzia claimed this once again brings out all existing politicization when it comes to humanitarian issue in Ukraine.
Western colleagues, Mr. Nebenzia insisted, did not accept the document submitted on Wednesday for political reasons, so no resolution further worsens the situation on the ground.
The statement called for a ceasefire and requested humanitarian truce to evacuate Ukrainian people, the Russian diplomat stressed.
Nebenzia strongly rejected accusations that Russia plans to use biological weapons in Ukraine: that is simply unacceptable, he stressed.
