The President of Ecuador announced that the Government will invest approximately USD 550 million in the maintenance and construction of highways throughout the country. This investment will be financed, in part, with surpluses from the price of oil.
Lasso explained that from next week he will initiate this plan and other infrastructure works in the country.
“We are already starting, on Monday the Santa Elena – Ruta del Spondylus highway begins, also a short Libertad – Ballenita highway and some detours from the Santa Elena – Salinas highway.”
In the same way, he confirmed that the additional income that Ecuador will receive due to the increase in the price of oil will be USD 1,500 million.
“OF THOSE USD 1,500 WE HAVE TO REDUCE USD 350 MILLION DUE TO THE BREAKING OF THE OCP AND SOTE”.
On the other hand, he assured that these revenues are shared with the Decentralized Autonomous Governments, with the Amazon and then with the Central Government.
