The government spokesman, Carlos Jijón, announced that President Guillermo Lasso will travel to Chile to participate in the act of inauguration of the president of this nation, Gabriel Boric.
He informed that the visit will also allow closer ties between the two nations, consolidate the support of this country for Ecuador to enter the Pacific Alliance and the presentation of the investment portfolio offered by the country, which amounts to $30 billion.
He also referred to the increase in the price of fuel, which is around USD120. With the surplus, the losses in non-oil exports due to the war in Russia and Ukraine would be covered.
“1,200 million dollars in imports of bananas, flowers, fishing are going to be affected. What is gained from surplus oil can be lost in non-oil exports,” he added.
The surplus will also be used for social investments, while other markets are sought for non-oil exports affected
