National Police expects to have a Strategic Command, after agreement between Ecuador and the US

The command will articulate information with other countries to have the necessary alerts of the illegal economies generated by the transnational illegal markets, Carrillo said.

The General Commander of the National Police, Hernán Carrillo, explained that, within the security agreement between Ecuador and the United States, they expect to have a C-5: “a command that allows us to carry out coordination, communication, computation and what has to do with strategic command to meet citizen demands on security issues.

On Tuesday, February 18, Carillo announced that he accompanied the Minister of Government, María Paula Romo, along with the Ecuadorian delegation to one of the meetings they had in Washington, United States, before signing the agreement. He said that “this agreement is very important for the institution.”

Carillo said that last Friday he attended the DEA to the graduation of the first police officers under the concepts of special agents to combat drug trafficking. In addition, from the training to members of the Ecuadorian Police, they made other requests within the framework of the cooperation.

“We are applying and part of the international cooperation is to have a C-5. A command that allows us to exercise coordination, communication, computation and whatever has to do with strategic command to meet citizen demands on security issues, ”said Carrillo.

In addition, he said that this command will articulate information with other countries to have the necessary alerts of the illegal economies generated by the transnational illegal markets.

The government minister acknowledged that there are internal problems in the National Police.
