Some 6,000 irregular soldiers surrendered to the Syrian army

(Prensa Latina) Syrian authorities on Sunday announced that around 6,000 armed men and deserters were pardoned after joining the reconciliation process in the provinces of the Countryside of Damascus and Raqa.

The number of fugitives tended to by judicial and military authorities in the center of Kisweh municipality south of the capital Damascus is estimated at more than 2,500, Baath party secretary Radwan Moustafa told al-Watan daily.

He said that the extension of this initiatives to areas freed from terrorism, such as the Eastern Ghouta region and the cities of Duma and Al-Tal, east and north of Damascus, is being considered.

Meanwhile, the legal status of 3,117 military fugitives who came to the center in the town of Maskaneh in eastern Aleppo province in northern Syria, was normalized.

At the same time, the provinces of Raqa and Deir Ezzor have been carrying out similar processes for almost three months, and an estimated 26,000 people joined this initiative and the ranks of the army and resumed their normal lives.

The Syrian army expanded its policies based on reconciliation to restore normalcy to certain provinces and regions without resorting to military operations that could cause material damage and the loss of human lives.
