(Prensa Latina) The United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) asked the international community for help in the face of a notorious shortage of resources, Prensa Latina reported on Thursday as of a communique issued by that agency.
The appeal demands a donation of 87.5 million dollars, with which it aspires to alleviate the difficult living conditions of the refugees.
This money will provide, the text states, assistance to the poorest, cover medical expenses and transportation to schools.
URNWA confirmed that almost more than 210,000 Palestinians out of almost 400,000 living in this country are among the most vulnerable due to the impossibility of purchasing basic products such as food or medicines.
Palestinians in Lebanon are prohibited from holding professional positions, receiving few legal protections and they cannot own properties.
