The province of Pichincha registers 204,903 confirmed cases of coronavirus, cut to Thursday, January 6, 2022. That is, 480 new cases were increased in a single day, when in recent days the average increase was 350 cases.
This information was released by the Ministry of Public Health, in its epidemiological report. The institution reported that, of this number, the city of Quito is the one with the most infections, with 189,600 cases. On January 5, the city had 189,144 cases. That is, in a single day, there was an increase of 456 cases only in the capital.
In the Cayambe canton, meanwhile, 1,986 cases are registered. In Mejía, 4,303. In Pedro Moncayo, 531. In Pedro Vicente Maldonado, 443. In Puerto Quito, 555. In Rumiñahui, 6,723. And in San Miguel de los Bancos, 762 confirmed cases.
The Pichincha prefecture, through the Pichincha Humana Health Centers, located in the Plaza de la República, La Villaflora and Carapungo, performs tests to detect COVID-19, in order to protect the health of citizens.
