Ecuador’s Ministry of Health receives USD 150 million to pay debt to providers

The Government assigned USD 150 million to the Ministry of Health (MSP), in order to cover as a priority the pending payments that have been audited and correspond to dialyzers, Solca, among other providers.

The MSP conducts audits on the inherited debt, which to date is around USD 229 million. The objective is to verify that the processes have been carried out in accordance with current regulations.

The values have their origin in 2014, when the debts were no longer covered. These were accumulated, mainly, in 2020 until the payment capacity was exceeded.

The resources allocated are part of the Government’s commitment to solve the problem that causes discomfort to Ecuadorians.
