Tokyo, Nov 30 (Prensa Latina) Japan on Monday banned the entry of foreigners from around the world for at least one month to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant of the SARS CoV-2 coronavirus.
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida informed that the border closure is a temporary measure until information on the recent mutation of the virus that causes Covid-19 is clear and can be fought.
The Japanese government published a list of 14 countries and regions, including the United Kingdom and Germany, from which Japanese citizens who return and foreign residents will be subjected to stricter quarantine requirements.
As of Wednesday, the daily limit for the number of travelers will be reduced from 5,000 to 3,500, who will have to be isolated for two weeks, regardless of whether they are fully vaccinated.
