Buenos Aires, Nov 29 (Prensa Latina) Argentine President Alberto Fernandez on Monday ratified his commitment to this country’s unions, which he considered fundamental to protect the workers’ rights.
When participating in the inauguration ceremony of the national authorities of the Insurance Union, the president highlighted the role of these unions and pointed out that “eliminating redundancy payment and lowering contributions means fewer rights.”
During the ceremony, the president said that having paid vacations, retirement contributions, strong and united workers’ federations are rights and preserve people’s best quality of life. “United unions favor the rights of working people,” he said.
The ceremony was also attended by several members of the cabinet and union leaders such as Hector Daer (Federation of Associations of Argentinian Health Workers) and Pablo Moyano (truck drivers), among others.
