This Sunday, November 21, 2021, President Guillermo Lasso and his counterpart from Colombia, Iván Duque, will hold a high-level meeting at the Carondelet Palace.
The Government reports that the meeting will allow both leaders and their ministerial teams to dialogue on different aspects of the bilateral relationship, the exchange of experiences and the delineation of security strategies.
In addition, they will evaluate the possible route of action to address common needs and problems to protect the well-being of their citizens.
It is expected that, on Sunday afternoon, the authorities will give statements to the press about the dialogue and the agreements reached.
The meeting, at the last minute, occurs amid a wave of insecurity in the country, which remains in a state of emergency for 30 days in nine provinces. While the prison crisis continues, leaving, so far, more than 320 deaths.
