Venezuelan elections are a lesson in people’s democracy

(Prensa Latina) Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez noted on Sunday that today’s regional and municipal elections are a lesson in democracy for the people.

After voting, the official highlighted to the press the discipline and civility with which Venezuelans go through the electoral process, as a result of dialogue between the opposition and the Government.

Rodríguez underlined that this is a significant day for the nation, because it is the time when the people will decide at the polls the direction of the country, but they will also reaffirm that issues in this nation are resolved among Venezuelans, without external interference or pressure by either the United States or the European Union.

She expressed gratitude for the presence of 300 international observers from more than 55 countries who are visiting Venezuela to check the process.

In this regard, she stressed: “… we are always grateful and will be grateful for the support and company of our friends who did not abandon us, not even in the worst times, thank you for your solidarity.”
