Constitutional judges of Latin America began dialogue in Mexico

Mexico, Nov 17 (Prensa Latina) Constitutional judges from Latin America began today in Mexico a regional dialogue with the purpose of advancing in the defense and consolidation of the economic, social, cultural and environmental rights of the people.

The inaugural ceremony was in charge of the host Arturo Zaldívar, president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), who stressed the need for joint actions in favor of the development of the region in this matter.

This is the third edition of these dialogues, which coincides with the work being carried out in the protection of fundamental human rights, but which, he said, it is important to complement them.

Zaldívar considered that in Latin America we have built a constitutional language of our own, with legal categories that allow us to understand each other and also to understand the world we live in, which is different to other regions, he added.

This third judicial meeting will be attended by judges from the Supreme Court of Justice of Paraguay, Peru, Costa Rica, Chile and Ecuador, who will share experiences, opinions and jurisdictional criteria.
