Rafael Correa, former president of Ecuador, accused the media of protecting right-wing politicians linked to the Pandora Papers in an interview in Argentina on the C5N channel.
In this context, the former president assured that right-wing politicians and presidents would be involved in the Pandora Papers.
In addition, Correa pointed out that even in Ecuador, a prestigious magazine did a report on the subject and failed to reveal details about the Lasso, when he would be one of the three Latin American presidents who would be dotted by this plot.
Another of the problems addressed by the former president was the excessive external indebtedness of Latin American countries, before this, he explained that, in Ecuador, former president Lenín Moreno was excessively indebted to multilateral organizations.
“The problem of external debt in Latin America was almost overcome, we have fallen again due to mismanagement, by bad governments, by populisms of right-wing governments.”
To conclude, he asserted that it is time for unity in Latin America and that the pandemic gave reason to progressive governments to understand the importance of the State and the right to health.
