Beirut, Oct 29 (Prensa Latina) Lebanon’s Beirut blast probe judge Tarek Bitar on Friday suspended a hearing to listen to the testimony of former Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab.
Diab filed a lawsuit as a result of which the judicial process was put on hold until authorities adopt a decision.
Former Interior Minister and acting lawmaker Nouhad Machnouk filed a similar complaint, and his appearance in court was also postponed.
Diab, along with three former Ministers and acting lawmakers, Ali Hassan Khalil, Ghazi Zoaiter and Nouhad Machnouk, are facing charges over what happened at the port terminal.
As a result of August 2020’s explosion at Beirut’s port, more than 200 people were killed, some 6,500 were injured and some 300,000 have had their homes totally or partially damaged.
