Argentina’s President praises fight of Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo

Buenos Aires, Oct 22 (Prensa Latina) Argentina’s President Alberto Fernandez praised today the fight of Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo, who 44 years ago went to the streets in search for their grandchildren, missing, abducted or in prison during the military dictatorship (1976-1983).

On the Identity Right National Day, conceived to pay tribute to the Grandmothers, the president highlighted the restless battle ‘in the hands of women who have made history. The people stands by you,’ he said.

Likewise, Fernandez wished happy birthday to the outstanding defender of human rights and president of the Grandmothers, Estela de Carlotto, who described as emblem of human rights in the homeland and in the world.

Her spirit guides us and makes us stronger. I greet her with all my heart and honor, the head of State noted who showed a photo of the fighting grandmothers along his messages.
