Santo Domingo, Oct 7 (Prensa Latina) Dominican doctors will receive an increase of about 52 pesos (0.95 dollars) in their fees and proposed coverage for procedures, according to an agreement announced today between the social security system and the Medical Association.
The aforementioned agreement also includes a 20 percent increase in payments to doctors, surgical assistants and anesthesiologists for procedures performed on Family Health Insurance affiliates.
The increase, it was explained, will not directly affect the members as this payment will be taken from the funds of the Personal Health Account located in the system to deal with eventualities.
The agreement will be implemented and endorsed by means of a resolution of the National Security Council, a participant in the talks that led to the solution of the dispute.
