Rome, Oct 5 (Prensa Latina) Italy’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) registered a rise of 2.7 percent in the second quarter of 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) informed on Tuesday.
On an annual basis, the national GDP grew by 17.2 percent compared to the second quarter of 2020, the boom stage of the first outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, which resulted in the temporary paralysis of many economic and social activities.
In that period, ISTAT stated, the final consumption expenditure recorded an increase of 3.4 percent, the gross fixed capital formation grew by 2.6 percent, imports went up by 30.1 percent and exports rose by 39.4 percent.
