Mexico continues to lower Covid-19 rates

Mexico, Sep 17 (Prensa Latina) Mexico continues to lower the contagion rates of Covid-19 by confirming today 7,240 cases and 434 deaths, for a total of 3,549,229 people who have had the disease.

In the morning update, the Health Ministry points out on the report that total deaths since March 2020 now amount to 270,346.

The report indicates that the epidemic curve keeps going downward, with minus 13 percent of cases in the period from August 29 to September 4, compared to the previous week, the last week of August.

There is also today a decrease in the number of estimated active cases, with 79 thousand 983, that is, 3 thousand 851 less, compared to yesterday Wednesday.

Regarding hospital occupancy, it remained at 41 percent for general beds and dropped by one percent for those with a ventilator to 35 percent.

Regarding the development of the National Vaccination Plan, the federal office reported that 55,532 doses were administered yesterday. Of the 61 million 573 thousand 170 people who have at least one dose of any of the vaccines available in the country, 67 percent already have the full protection plan against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
