Beijing, Sep 14 (Prensa Latina) China on Tuesday opened the Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) with Pakistan as guest of honor, to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of relations between China and that nation.
The BIBF is holding online and in-person activities until Saturday, September 18, an option that is gaining strength here and globally to reduce the risks of the spread of Covid-19.
The fair site has a section where photographs from Pakistan, biographical profiles of several writers and prominent figures of its culture, besides articles and videos, alluding to the fraternity between the two states, literature and tourism, are showcased.
Among the books shown at the fair is one about Malala Yousafzai, an outstanding advocate for girls and women’s rights.
The current edition of the BIBF displays 300,000 books from this nation and 105 countries. Many of those nations have taken part in China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
In 2020, Cuba participated in this book fair as a guest of honor, on the occasion of the six decades of the diplomatic ties between the island and China.
