(Prensa Latina) Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva extended his lead over President Jair Bolsonaro in the poll for Brazil´s 2022 elections, a poll revealed.
The Queast Consulting consultancy firm and Genial Bank survey, corresponding to September, showed Lula with nearly half of votes for president in the first ballot, followed by Bolsonaro.
In five first-round scenarios, Lula leads 44-47% of the voting intentions. Bolsonaro, on the other hand, has 25-26.
In a virtual runoff, Lula would have 55% of the votes, while Bolsonaro would get 30%.
Bolsonaro would only win in a possible run-off versus Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco (36-33%).
For the survey, as many as 2,000 people were surveyed through an in-person questionnaire conducted Aug. 26-29.
