Aeroflot to fly to Mexico, Dominican Republic, Mauritius and Jordan

(Prensa Latina) Aeroflot, Russia’s flagship airline, plans to fly to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Mauritius and Jordan, its general director, Mikhail Poluboyarinov, announced in statements to local television.

Flights between Russia to Mexico were resumed in May, and to date they are serviced by the company AzurAir, which has also been flying to the Dominican Republic since August 9th. In the Caribbean, Aeroflot currently only flies to the Cuban resort of Varadero.

Air service with Jordan and Mauritius was officially restored in July, but no Russian airlines fly currently to those countries.

Despite the restrictions caused by Covid-19, Russian airlines transported 12.5 million passengers in July, almost double than last year, Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency reported on Tuesday.

National airlines transported 56.5 million passengers between January and July, 63.7 percent more than in the same period of 2020.
