(Prensa Latina) With the slogan ‘Chile podemos +,’ the Chile Vamos ruling coalition on Sunday seeks to change its tarnished image for the presidential election slated for November.
This will be the slogan of the campaign of its candidate Sebastian Sichel, former minister in the administration of Sebastian Piñera, who is seeking to win the presidency with the support of parties National Renewal (RN), Independent Democratic Union (UDI) and Political Evolution (Evopoli).
The recent launching of the new slogan with the presence of Sichel and representatives of these parties, immediately generated criticism from the opposition and a number of memes on social media, where the prevailing opinion is that it is just a make-up for the same face.
Deputy Gabriel Boric, presidential candidate for the left-wing Apruebo Dignidad coalition, told the press that the right thinks that by changing the name no one will realize that this is the Piñera administration that wants four more years.
For her part, the recently elected presidential candidate for the center-left Constituent Unity alliance, Yasna Provoste, rephrased the new slogan by saying on her Twitter account that Chile cannot stand right-wing ruling anymore.
