In Ecuador more than 1.3 million people received at least the first dose against Covid-19

1,326,788 people have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, at least with the first dose, as part of the alliance between the Ecuadorian Business Committee and the Ministry of Health.

This was detailed by the president of this committee, Felipe Rivadeneira, in a press conference offered on the afternoon of this Monday, August 2, 2021, in which Vice President Alfredo Borrero and the Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón, were also present.

Rivadeneira added that the immunization process will continue, for the application of second doses of the drugs from Pfizer, Sinovac and AstraZeneca.

For her part, the Minister of Health also thanked the work of the Decentralized Autonomous Governments that have lent their human and logistical contingent, to establish vaccination points and advance with immunization against Covid. 19.

She added that it is planned to inoculate with the two doses of the drugs. to more than 10 million people, nationwide.

«It does not end here. We will end the 9/100 Vaccination Plan in the first weeks of September, but we will continue to vaccinate with the first doses until December ».

She announced that until the end of the year it is expected to vaccinate at least 85% of the Ecuadorian population, to achieve the so-called herd immunity.

Garzón also reported that she is working on a communication campaign to encourage people to apply the second doses of vaccines.
