A new batch with 271,440 doses of Pfizer coronavirus vaccines arrived in the country this Tuesday, August 3, 2021. The shipment arrived at the Mariscal Sucre Airport in Quito.
This delivery is part of the negotiation that Ecuador has with the US pharmaceutical company, of a total of six million formulas.
The vaccines will be used in phase 3 of the 9/100 Vaccination Plan, called “Less contagion”, in which, during this week, people from 16 to 21 years old, people with disabilities, children over 12 years old with aggravating illnesses and laggards.
In this context, today Ecuador received the first shipment of the Chinese CanSino vaccine with 200,000 doses, with which rural populations will be inoculated.
Until August 2, throughout the national territory, 11,732,461 doses of vaccines have been applied; of which 9,269,733 correspond to first applications and 2,462,728 are second doses.
