Teachers close Guayaquil roads and demand attention from the Government of Ecuador

On the morning of this Wednesday, August 4, dozens of teachers and parents protested in Guayaquil because they do not have a concrete response from the authorities, regarding the implementation of the reforms to the Organic Law of Intercultural Education (LOEI).

The teachers announced that they will continue with stoppages and protests throughout the country, while the Constitutional Court does not ratify the validity of the reforms to the LOEI, inculcated, more than 80 teachers are on hunger strike for 24 days.

In Guayaquil, teachers blocked the road to the Pascuales Terminal Terrestre Highway, which caused traffic to stop in the Ciudad del Río sector. At the moment the road remains blocked and the authorities request that alternate roads be used.

Similarly, in previous days the teachers closed roads in Santo Domingo, Pichincha, Azuay and Tungurahua. Even several teachers have been crucified, in protest.
