Two million doses of the Sinovac vaccine against Covid-19 arrived in Ecuador this Friday, the first shipment of this volume managed by the Government of Guillermo Lasso, whose campaign promise was to inoculate nine million Ecuadorians in 100 days, although not it is clear whether it would only correspond to one or two doses.
The Vice President of the Republic, Alfredo Borrero, the Minister of Public Health, Ximena Garzón, and other authorities received the shipment of these drugs at the Mariscal Sucre airport in Quito.
The health authority expressed its gratitude to those who have worked in the management of these vaccines: “It is a national plan in which we are all putting our shoulders (…) this is a great month in which we are going to receive more than 10 million vaccines ”.
The second President emphasized that progress is already being made with the vaccination of populations with difficult access; for example, to indigenous peoples and nationalities of the Amazon: “The vaccination process is advancing and that constitutes hope for Ecuadorians.”
