Ecuador reports 134 new infections and eight more deaths in the last 24 hours. This Monday, October 19, 2020, the country has 153.423 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 12.395 deaths.
According to the Ministry of Health, 8.106 people died with a positive prognosis. To this figure, 4.289 deaths are added that were probably caused by the new coronavirus.
This month the number of hospitalized patients in the country was reduced. Until this Monday, 521 stable hospitalized patients and 366 with a reserved prognosis have been reported. In total, there are 887 hospitalized in one day, while 38 more people were discharged from hospital.
This Sunday, October 18, the number of recovered patients in the country was updated and there are 6.053 more people who overcame the disease last week. Since the pandemic began, a total of 134.187 patients have recovered, which represents 87.54% of the total infected.
Pichincha registers 55 new infections and two more deaths in the last 24 hours. The province, the epicenter of the pandemic in Ecuador, has 49.583 confirmed cases and 1.950 deaths. Quito adds 51 new infected and amounts to 45.499 cases in the Ecuadorian capital.
